Grant applications

GUIDELINES

Inasmuch Foundation administers an open application each spring and fall for all focus areas: Journalism, Education, Human Services and Community. The foundation’s summer grant cycle is invitation only. We ask that you first review our website for funding priorities and geographic limitations (please note the journalism geographic limitations differ from the other focus areas). Organizations will be limited to a single request in a 12-month period. Given the foundation’s intent to make one contribution to an organization per year, the application should reflect the total annual support requested, including any sponsorships of upcoming events.

We strongly recommend using
Internet Explorer to apply for the application.

Please note Blackbaud’s grantmaking software has compatibility issues with other web browsers.

Type your application in a program such as MS Word or other text editor, and then paste into the appropriate fields rather than typing your content directly into the web page.

OUR ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS IS EASY.
JUST FOLLOW THESE STEPS.

Proposals are initiated through an online Grant Request System. To be considered, a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) must be submitted by 5pm CST February 15th or August 15th. Should the 15th fall on a weekend or national holiday, the request will be due the following business day. Applications, if invited, are due on March 15th or September 15th. Funding decisions are made and communicated in May and November of each year.

1
Create online account and submit LOI

The grant process begins with a letter of inquiry. To begin, access the link below to initiate your inquiry.

2
Wait for invitation to apply, based on LOI

Once letters of inquiry are received, our panel will review and distribute invitations to submit full grant applications.

3
Submit grant application

If a full grant invitation is received, access your online account to finalize and submit. The link you received via email confirmation will also allow you access to an incomplete grant application.

Once you have created your online account, you can use the email link to log back into your account to edit, save or submit your letter of inquiry or full grant application.
