Inasmuch Foundation announces $108,000 in grants

OKLAHOMA CITY – Inasmuch Foundation announced today the distribution of $108,000 in grants to 8 organizations serving Colorado Springs.

Inasmuch Foundation, founded by Edith Kinney Gaylord in 1982, supports education, health and human services and community enhancement initiatives that enrich the quality of life for Oklahomans. The foundation carries on its late founder’s interest in Colorado Springs by giving to nonprofits that are located in and directly serve the residents of the city.

Grants were awarded to organizations for projects addressing the foundation’s areas of interest as follows:

Education

• $24,000 to University of Colorado Colorado Springs for the Chancellor’s Leadership Class.

Health and Human Services

• $25,000 to Greccio Housing for the new Resource & Opportunity Center.
• $25,000 to Penrose-St. Francis Health Foundation for expansion of the John Zay Guest House.
• $5,000 to Franciscan Community Counseling to provide mental health counseling to uninsured and underinsured low income children and families.
• $5,000 to University of Colorado Colorado Springs for the Aging Center’s integrated mental health care services for older adults.

Community Enhancement

• $10,000 to Colorado College for the Summer Music Festival.
• $10,000 to Colorado Springs Conservatory for program support.
• $2,500 to Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Association for expansion of the Mozart Strings Project to include home schools.
• $1,500 to Cheyenne Mountain Public Broadcast House for the 2015 Fall On-Air Membership Drive.
