Inasmuch Foundation announces $111,250 in grants

OKLAHOMA CITY – Inasmuch Foundation announced today the distribution of $111,250 in grants to 9 organizations serving Colorado Springs.

Inasmuch Foundation, founded by Edith Kinney Gaylord in 1982, supports education, health and human services and community enhancement initiatives that enrich the quality of life for Oklahomans. The foundation carries on its late founder’s interests in Colorado Springs by giving to nonprofits that are located in and directly serve the residents of the city.

Grants were awarded to organizations as follows:

• $25,000 to City of Colorado Springs for the capital campaign to replace outdated visitor and support facilities on the Summit of Pikes Peak.
• $25,000 to Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity to bring the community together to build homes, communities and hope.
• $15,000 to Partners in Housing to give homeless families with children the hope and opportunity to achieve self-sufficiency through supportive services and transitional housing.
• $10,000 to Fostering Hope Foundation to support foster parents in their task of caring for abused and neglected children and to prepare and assist foster teens with successful community and economic integration upon leaving foster care.
• $10,000 to Ithaka Land to buy, hold, and maintain properties on behalf of low-income individuals and families.
• $8,750 to Urban Peak Colorado Springs to ignite the potential in youth to create self-determined fulfilled lives.
• $7,500 to Leadership Pikes Peak to build a thriving community through leadership and service.
• $5,000 to Opera Theatre of the Rockies to advance opera in southern Colorado through education and training and by presenting exciting and memorable professional opera that spotlights Colorado artists.
• $5,000 to Franciscan Community Counseling to provide counseling and programming that promote emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual wellness for all people without regard to affiliation, orientation, or ability to pay.
