Inasmuch Foundation announces $197,500 in grants

OKLAHOMA CITY – Inasmuch Foundation announced today the distribution of $197,500 in grants to 14 organizations serving Colorado Springs.

Inasmuch Foundation, founded by Edith Kinney Gaylord in 1982, supports education, health and human services and community enhancement initiatives that enrich the quality of life for Oklahomans. The foundation carries on its late founder’s interests in Colorado Springs by giving to nonprofits that are located in and directly serve the residents of the city.

Grants were awarded to organizations as follows:

  • $50,000 to Colorado College for the Fine Arts Center’s scholarly symposium focused on Broadmoor Art Academy.
  • $25,000 to Atlas Preparatory School for the REACH Beyond summer enrichment program.
  • $25,000 to Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum to advance storytelling in its new and continuing exhibits.
  • $25,000 to United States Olympic Museum for the Community Campaign.
  • $10,000 to CASA of the Pikes Peak Region to bring all programming into one location.
  • $10,000 to Chamber Orchestra of the Springs for increased outreach.
  • $10,000 to Council of Neighbors and Organizations for a full-time Southeast Community Coordinator position.
  • $10,000 to National Alliance on Mental Illness – Colorado Springs for expansion of the Family-to-Family education program.
  • $10,000 to Peak Vista Community Health Centers to provide breast cancer screenings and diagnostics for women in poverty.
  • $5,000 to Citizens Project to increase civic engagement through comprehensive local election education programs.
  • $5,000 to Colorado Springs Choral Society to raise profile in the community and improve their technology.
  • $5,000 to Colorado Springs Food Rescue to develop a community-driven food center in the Hillside neighborhood.
  • $5,000 to Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region for Peak Radar, connecting residents and visitors with arts & culture.
  • $2,500 to Cheyenne Mountain Public Broadcast House for general support.
