Inasmuch Foundation announces $240,000 in grants
OKLAHOMA CITY – Inasmuch Foundation announced today the distribution of $240,000 in grants to 10 organizations serving Colorado Springs.
Inasmuch Foundation, founded by Edith Kinney Gaylord in 1982, supports education, health and human services and community enhancement initiatives that enrich the quality of life for Oklahomans. The foundation carries on its late founder’s interest in Colorado Springs by giving to nonprofits that are located in and directly serve the residents of the city.
Grants were awarded to organizations for projects addressing the foundation’s areas of interest as follows:
Health and Human Services
- $100,000 to Silver Key Senior Services for the capital campaign to purchase and renovate the new campus.
- $50,000 to Innovations in Aging Collaborative in general support of their work addressing the challenges and opportunities of aging.
- $10,000 to Discover Goodwill for Financial University, teaching financial best practices to clients from workforce development programs.
- $10,000 to Fostering Hope Foundation for a foster youth post-emancipation support initiative.
- $10,000 to Kidpower of Colorado for workshops teaching personal safety and confidence-building skills at low-income, at-risk schools in the Pikes Peak region.
- $10,000 to Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation for a meditation garden and donor recognition circle within Nancy Lewis Park in Colorado Springs.
- $5,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado-Pikes Peak to provide mentoring through sports activities for children facing adversity.
Community Enhancement
- $30,000 to University of Colorado-Colorado Springs for Theatreworks, a small professional theatre company.
- $10,000 to Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra for the Maestro’s Circle.
- $5,000 to Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region for Peak Radar, a program to connect residents and visitors with the Pikes Peak arts community.
