Inasmuch Foundation announces $681,250 in grants

OKLAHOMA CITY – Inasmuch Foundation announced today the distribution of $681,250 in grants to 8 organizations serving Colorado Springs.

Inasmuch Foundation, founded by Edith Kinney Gaylord in 1982, supports education, health and human services and community enhancement initiatives that enrich the quality of life for Oklahomans. The foundation carries on its late founder’s interests in Colorado Springs by giving to nonprofits that are located in and directly serve the residents of the city.

Grants were awarded to organizations as follows:

• $500,000 to University of Colorado for an endowed fund in honor of Barbara Yalich, longtime Inasmuch Foundation Advisory Committee member. The fund will help support the UCCS Aging Center’s director position.
• $100,000 to Silver Key for the capital campaign to purchase and renovate a new multiple-use program site.
• $20,000 to Colorado College to support the Summer Music Festival conductor position.
• $20,000 to Palmer Land Trust for the Founders Circle and Millennium Society membership campaign.
• $15,000 to Greccio Housing to develop an outcomes system and database.
• $15,000 to Homeward Pikes Peak for Housing First case management and transportation costs.
• $10,000 to Kidpower of Colorado for safety skills trainings for low-income children and teens.
• $1,250 to Pillar Institute to renovate classroom space in the Chapel Hills mall.
